Peter van Akkeren (1961) started out as a journalist for the national Dutch press agency, radio and tv. In the 90s, he joined a major advertising agency (BBDO) in Amsterdam as a partner and the head of cross-media marketing. Peter has worked for many national and international brands, such as RTL News, Business News Radio, FD (newspaper), KPN (Telecom), Randstad (HR) and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Peter also created brand and campaign strategies for the Dutch Football Association and the national team, and for charities like the Dutch cancer foundation and the brain foundation.
In 2010, Peter launched the all-sustainable basics brand Saint Basics, which currently produces its products in Portugal. Having moved to Portugal permanently in 2018, he is still a branding/marketing advisor and storyteller for several purposeful brands in Holland.
